Activating the hood releases a supply of aviator grade oxygen into the hood. Patented passive C02 scrubbers remove carbon dioxide from exhaled breath. The hood is made from multiple layers of Teflon and Kapton, giving the wearer superior protection against the hazards encountered in a fire or chemical attack. Your head and neck are sealed against radiant heat and chemical hazards. The endurance of the oxygen supply depends on your level of activity: 11-15 minutes while moving, or up to 60 minutes while sitting waiting for rescue.
